Overview:

This course is designed to update attendees on recent and forthcoming changes and what they mean to the provider and user of hazardous substances. It will explain the interrelation between the various sets of regulations governing hazardous substances in the UK, such as REACH Directive, the new global harmonised standards, CHIP & CLP, Safety Data Sheets and COSHH.

• Identification of a variety of documents that can assist in defining the “Best Practice” standard.

This interactive course is intended to provide attendees with sufficient awareness of their principal issues to be more aware of how they might manage them.

On completion of the course, attendees will:
• Have the opportunity to confirm their existing understanding of the relevant legislation.
• Have a better awareness of what information might already be readily available.
• Have a better awareness of how several different issues might be inter-related.
• Have a better understanding of what they might need to do with regard to a particular topic in their workplace.
• Have greater awareness of how current issues are perceived by the regulators.
• Have the opportunity to confirm their understanding through topic specific group/syndicate exercises & facilitation.
• Be aware of applicable new [within preceding 12 months] H,S&F legislation.
